  1. This is a brilliant album and this expanded track listing version is simply more really interesting stuff. The Damned show on 'Strawberries' that they can rock with the best of them, that they have wit, intelligence, political views and musical flexibility/5(61).

  2. On their masterwork, Strawberries, the Damned mixed punk with 60's pop and psychedelia, their main influences being bands like early Pink Floyd, The Electric Prunes, Captain Beefheart, and Love. Dave Vanian was obsessed with classic horror movies and there is a dark undercurrent to the album that is both humorous and foreboding/5(12).
