2. In , Ikonika unveiled her second album for Hyperdub, ‘Aerotropolis’. Loosely based on her tour experiences and childhood growing up near London Heathrow airport, the album showcased her first collaboration with a vocalist (Jessy Lanza on ‘Beach Mode’) and introduced a new Latin Freestyle, Electro, R’n’B and Boogie influenced style.

3. Apr 10,  · Say what??? It sure doesn’t feel like it’s been four years since Ikonika’s last release. But, as the title of the renowned dubstep producer/DJ new one alludes, perhaps I was just DISTRACTED by the torrent of new music from other artists that’s constantly splashing me in the face like some sort of non-torturous form of waterboarding, because four years have indeed passed. Throughout.

Apr 07,  · Ikonika has been making waves since her huge single 'Please', as a DJ, remixer and producer. ‘Distractions’ follows her release, ‘Aerotropolis’, and it shows off the producer’s love of UK music, with grime, dubstep, r'n'b and hip hop influences and features from the likes of Andrea Galaxy, Jammz, and Jessy Lanza.

5. Ikonika (real name Sara Abdel-Hamid) is an electronic musician, producer and DJ often associated with Hyperdub Records. She also runs the label Hum + Buzz with Optimum (2) (Night Slugs/Planet Mu). Before changing her name to Ikonika, she used to produce under the alias Kill Kip.

6. Ikonika is back with a new EP for Hyperdub informed by her experiences of touring and made for big room dancefloors. The EP features four original tracks of Ikonika’s characteristic neon cyberscapes with added club muscle. Please note the remixes are digital only tracks and do not appear on the vinyl, please see the vinyl format for track listing.

8. Ikonika (real name Sara Abdel-Hamid) is a UK-based electronic musician, producer and DJ often associated with Hyperdub Records and the Dubstep genre. Her debut 12", "Please/Simulacrum" was released in on Hyperdub Records. She has released music on Planet Mu, as well as a remix of DJ Mujava’s "Township Funk", released by Warp Records.

9. Play these tracks loud and you’ll find there’s quite honestly nothing like it. If you’ve not lost your mind to ‘Spastik’ or gurned in a dark warehouse to ‘Plasticine’ at least once in your life, you’re missing out. Very highly recommended.
